James Halliday, AM (born 1938) is an Australian wine writer and critic, winemaker, and senior wine competition judge. Since 1979 he has written and co-authored more than 40 books on wine, including contributions to the Larousse Encyclopedia of Wine and The Oxford Companion to Wine. Borambola Wines has featured in several of James Hallidays wine companion books, featuring in 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2009 with our award winning wines.

2004 - Bunya Bunya Chardonnay - rated 87

Medium yellow-green, the bouquet has a clean, smooth nectarine fruit with subtle French oak in the background, the pace picking up on the palate with abundant sweet peachy fruit, subtle oak and a hint of residual sweetness.

Best paired with Roast Pork.

2005 - Hiraji’s Spell Shiraz - rated 87

A massively powerful prune, plum, blackberry and dark chocolate mix.

Best paired with lamb, beef, cheese, chicken and duck.

Shiraz - Bright, clear purple-red; a medium bodied, appealing mix of black cherry, plum and blackberry.
